Judgement Day

Dear Family and Friends,

As most of you know, it has been a long and difficult road for our family these last few years.  It looks like at least one of the chapters of this ordeal is finally coming to a conclusion.  Rick is due to be sentenced August 9th at 10:00am

First of all, I just want to thank each and every one of you for being so supportive of us thru this time.  We have traversed the gamut of emotions that come in such a time as this, and it has been extremely difficult and painful.  But the Lord has been so faithful and tender coming into those dark nights of the soul and filling us up with His Spirit and Grace.  And so many times it has been by the words and wisdom and Truth that He has given to you to impart on us.  I am beyond thankful for these gifts.  They are life and light to a crushed spirit.

As the unknown looms ahead of us like dark clouds heralding an ominous storm, I ask you to pray.  Pray for strength, peace, protection, faith and trust for our family.  Pray that God would show himself in a mighty way.  That His name would be glorified and our hearts would rest in His abundant Grace.   Please pray for the hearts of the Judge (The Honorable Richard Schell), the prosecutor (Andy Williams) and our attorney (David Finn), all of the other parties who were involved in this ordeal, and our family, especially our sweet children’s hearts.  That our response to whatever the outcome is would be praise and trust, not bitterness and anger.

We have waited a long time for this day.  Longing for it to be over, but dreading the outcome it might have.  But I believe with all my heart that God is good, no matter what the outcome is.  We hold fast to the words of Christ in 2 Corinthians 12:9, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.”

Fear not, for I have redeemed you; I have summoned you by name; you are mine. When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and when you pass through the rivers, they will not sweep over you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned; the flames will not set you ablaze. For I am the LORD, your God, the Holy One of Israel, your Savior; I give Egypt for your ransom, Cush and Seba in your stead.
Since you are precious and honored in my sight, and because I love you, I will give men in exchange for you, and people in exchange for your life. Do not be afraid, for I am with you…"
  -Isaiah 43:1b-5a

Let hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for he who promised is faithful.  –Hebrews 10:23

If God is for us, who can be against us?  -Romans 8:31
